Physiotherapist

Society for Action in Disability and Health Awareness (SADHANA) is an NGO working towards the empowerment and inclusion of marginalised people including persons with disabilities. SADHANA is working in Mayurbhanj for more than last 25 years, addressing a wide range of health, education, livelihood, and disability issues in its project area and beyond. It aims is to ensure that people with disabilities and other marginalised persons in the villages are included in family and village life to the optimum level possible. It works in the areas of Inclusive Education, Health, Nutrition, Economic Inclusion, Adaptation and Rehabilitation interventions to ensure equal opportunities and rights for all.

SADHANA is looking for one Physiotherapist, concerned for poor people and interested to work with children and adults with disabilities and their families, both at centre level and home level in poor and underprivileged communities.

Position: Physiotherapist

No of Positions: 01 (one)

Location: Centre for Inclusive Communities, Bankisole, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha (home based services are to be provided in Baripada and Suliapada Block)

Report to: The Director/Secretary

Key role and responsibilities:

Physiotherapist will play a pivotal role in making assessments of individuals and designing rehabilitation plan. S/he has to train the parents and field workers of SADHANA to carry out necessary therapies as per the Rehabilitation Plan. S/he has to monitor the interventions carried out by the parents/ field workers at home of the individuals. S/he has also to monitor progress, analyse the reports of the field workers to ascertain achievements of targets set in the rehabilitation plans.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

# Masters in Physiotherapy/ Bachelor in Physiotherapy with three years of clinical experience/ community based rehabilitation experience.

# Strong leadership, coordination, and supervisory skills.

# Good communication and interpersonal skills.

# Proficiency in computer applications and data management.

# Concerned for peoples in need and ability to meet deadlines.

# Fluency in Odia, English and Hindi; knowledge of local language will be preferred.

Salary: Rs.30,000 to 35,000/- per month, (Negotiable based on experience and competencies)

Community Based Rehabilitation Coordinator (CBRC)

Position: Community Based Rehabilitation Coordinator (CBRC)

Report to: The CBR Programme In-charge

Key role and responsibilities:

The CBRC at SADHANA plays a pivotal role in promoting an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can develop their optimum potential. They are responsible for guiding and coordinating the implementation of project activities at the community, group, and family levels. The IDC is responsible for effective planning, team management, and seamless coordination among stakeholders. By supporting CBR Workers and other project staff, the CBRC must provide technical guidance and thematic training, monitor progress, and ensure timely reporting and documentation.

This role is essential in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential with active involvement from their families and communities. Join us in making a meaningful impact through our dedicated efforts towards inclusivity and development.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

# Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.

# At least 4 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in the field of disability, health, special education, or related field.

# Strong leadership, coordination, and supervisory skills.

# Good communication and interpersonal skills.

# Proficiency in computer applications and data management.

# Concerned for peoples in need and ability to meet deadlines.

# Fluency in Odia, English and Hindi; knowledge of local language will be preferred.

Community Based Rehabilitation Workers (CBRW)

SADHANA is looking for passionate Field Level Workers who are interested to work with persons with disabilities, other marginalised persons in rural/tribal villages, their families, and communities for enabling and empowering them to lead a dignified and fulfilling life.

Position: Community Based Rehabilitation Workers (CBRW)

No of Positions: 04 (Four)

Place of Posting: Baripada and Suliapada Blocks of Mayurbhanj, Odisha

Report to: The CBR Programme In-charge

Key role and responsibilities:

The CBRW at SADHANA is the main person working directly with the community, families, and individuals with disability to promote inclusion and development of people with disabilities. The IDF is responsible for facilitating the functioning of supportive structures like village resource pools and fun and learning groups, ensuring families use skills and knowledge from training sessions, and implementing rehabilitation and inclusion Plans for individuals with disability. By building relationships within the community and collaborating with local officials and service providers, the IDF has to raise awareness and drive initiatives that support the holistic development of individuals with disabilities.

The CBRW’s hands-on approach and active engagement at the grassroots level are crucial for creating an inclusive environment where everyone can reach their full potential. Qualifications and Skills Required:

# Age 21 to 35 years as on ‘last date’ mentioned in the job advertisement

# Intermediate and above in any discipline (Preference will be given to education, sociology, social work, psychology, or related field)

# Willingness to work in the villages and community

# Preference will be given to candidates from local area having experience of working with disabled people, families, and rural/tribal villages

# Good communication and interpersonal skills.

# Concerned for people in need and ability to meet deadlines.

# Able to write reports, applications, etc in Odia.

# Able to understand and speak manageable Hindi, preference will be given to those who can understand English to a minimum level.

# Knows the use of smart mobile phones.
